1:1 AI coaching for students & leaders

A swing coach
for AI.

Most people’s AI stops at a chat box. The real leverage is in an agent harness — a tool like pi that works in your files, runs the steps, and checks its own work. I’ll get you set up, coach your first swings, and teach you how to keep getting better on your own.

Never opened a terminal? Perfect. That’s exactly who this is for.

~/school — pi
$ pi › Turn my bio notes in notes/ch7.md into 20 flashcards, then quiz me on the ones I miss. read notes/ch7.md write flashcards/ch7.csv ✓ 20 cards ready. Want to start the quiz?
That’s the whole trick: you say what you want, in plain English.

Beyond the chatbot in the sidebar.

The AI assistant bolted onto your office apps is a toy compared to what’s possible. The difference isn’t a smarter model — it’s giving the model hands.

Chat box AI

  • You copy and paste things in, then copy answers back out
  • It can’t see your files or folders
  • It tells you the steps, and you do the work
  • Every conversation starts from scratch

AI in a harness

  • Works directly in your files, notes, and projects
  • Runs commands and checks its own work
  • You describe the outcome, it does the steps
  • Saved instructions teach it how you like things done

Like golf lessons. For your workflow.

A good coach doesn’t play the round for you. They fix your grip, watch you swing, and give you drills that make you better between lessons.

  1. 01

    Get in the harness

The only scary part, and we do it together: install, sign in, and run your first command. Then the terminal is just a place you type requests.

  2. 02

    Take real swings

We work on your actual stuff — homework, a project, a report due Friday, the spreadsheet you’ve been dreading. You drive. I coach.

  3. 03

    Keep improving

You leave with a playbook: how to ask, how to check the work, and what to try next. Come back for a tune-up whenever you want.

Get good at AI before everyone else does.

For high school and college students who want to use AI to learn faster and build real things — not just get answers.

Parents: this is about learning, not shortcuts. AI is a tutor here, not a ghostwriter, and we stay inside the rules your school sets.

Learn faster

Turn notes into flashcards, practice problems, and quizzes that explain what you got wrong and why.

Build real things

A personal website, a small app, a data project for class — the kind of thing that stands out on a college or internship application.

Command-line confidence

Files, folders, and the terminal basics most people never learn. Once they click, every technical skill gets easier.

Use it honestly

How to use AI as a study partner, how to check its work, and where the lines are for school.

Lead with AI, not around it.

For executives, managers, and the people who want to be. Stop waiting on someone else to show you what AI can do.

1:1 executive coaching

Private sessions on your actual work: memos, decks, research, and the data question you’ve been waiting on an analyst to answer.

Team workshops

Get your whole team into a harness together, so they leave with it set up on their own laptops and working.

Know what’s real

Hands-on experience is the best filter for vendor hype. Make better calls about AI for your team because you’ve used the good stuff yourself.

Aspiring managers

Being the person who can actually make AI do the work is a career advantage. Build that edge now.

Jon Brown

Hi, I’m Jon.

I’m an astronomer turned data scientist. I hold a PhD in Astronomy from The Ohio State University, published 32 peer-reviewed papers, and have spent the last several years shipping production ML systems and leading data teams.

I use agent harnesses every day, for work and for an embarrassing number of side projects. I’ve also watched plenty of smart people bounce off the terminal in the first five minutes and never come back. That barrier is small, and on the other side of it is the most useful tool I’ve ever used.

So I coach people through it.

Questions people ask.

I’ve never used a terminal. Is that a problem?

No, that’s the whole point. Getting you comfortable there is step one, and we do it together. Most of what you’ll type is plain English.

Which tools do you teach?

Mostly pi, a minimal, open-source agent harness that’s easy to understand and extend. I’ll also show you others when they’re a better fit. The skills carry over to all of them.

Do I need to pay for AI?

You’ll need an account with a model provider. I’ll help you pick a plan that fits how much you’ll use it.

What computer do I need?

Any will do: an old laptop, a locked-down work machine, even a Chromebook. If yours can't run the tools, we'll spin up a free cloud computer and you work from there.

Is this going to help my kid cheat?

No. We use AI to study, explain, practice, and build — and we talk openly about the rules for using it at school.

Can I use this with work data?

We’ll set things up to fit your company’s policies, and talk through what is and isn’t okay to share with a model.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the track and how often we meet. The intro call is free — we’ll figure out what makes sense there.

Free intro call

Let’s get you in the harness.

Tell me a little about yourself and what you’d like to get better at. I’ll reply to set up a free intro call. Evenings on weekdays and anytime on weekends (Pacific time).
